VISION, MISSION & OBJECTIVES OF MSRIT LIBRARY

The RIT Library System is responsible for providing collection resources and services to the Ramaiah Institute of Technology students and faculty. In line with the institution's mission statement in which the library system is an integral part and an intellectual resource of the academic community, the following are the Library's vision, mission, and objectives.

"The Library’s Vision is to provide comprehensive resources and services in support of the research, and teaching needs of the college community".

1. To understand the research, teaching and learning needs of its users;

2. Build collections and create tools to support research, teaching, and learning;

3. Provide access to and promote the discovery and use of local and external information resources;

4. Ensure the preservation and long-lasting availability of library collections and resources."

  • The Library and Information Centre's primary objective is to support the development of knowledge management in Engineering, Science, Technology, and related fields.

  • To achieve this, the Centre maintains a close relationship with the Institute's students, faculty, researchers, and staff to ensure that information services are delivered in an informed and integrated manner.

  • The Centre selects, collects, organizes, preserves, manages, and provides access to information sources in print, non-print, and digital forms, irrespective of their physical location, to facilitate scholarly pursuit, learning, teaching, and research within the Institute. It also encourages access to the rapidly growing digital collection of primary and secondary information sources.

  • The Centre strives to provide quality collections and resources, user facilities, and library staff that foster an environment conducive to study and research.

  • Besides, it offers a range of networked information and document delivery services that promote collaborative learning, scholarship, and study.

  • The Centre collaborates with other libraries and networks to optimize access to the knowledge base.
